Service Description
THIS MODULE WILL BE HELD VIA ZOOM. Through the sessions we will explore different ways of how to start the creative writing process. We will touch on the neuro science of creative writing. We will discuss the barriers that the mind can put in place to stop this process. We will look at tools that can be taken away and be used after the workshop has finished. Each session will involve at least 15 minutes of personal creative writing. Please note, whilst sharing your writing will be encourage, no one will be forced to share their writing. Writing tasks will be suggested between sessions. Week 1: An introduction into creative writing. We will draw up a group agreement on how we want to work together. (will include a discussion on cameras on / off & sharing work etc). We will explore what creative writing can do to support the Pathways to Hope programme. We will touch on the neuro science of creative writing. We will explore how to progress with creative writing & how this can accompany the stages of trauma. We will begin to explore the barriers that we place on ourselves not to write. Week 2: We will explore writing prompts. These are techniques that help you to start writing as starting to write can be the hardest thing about writing on a regular basis. Week 3: We will review how we as a group as progressing with our writing. We will check in on how the group are working on removing the barriers to writing. We will explore writing to support getting a balance on your mental health. This will touch on neuro science again. We will explore how journalling can support your journey through Pathways to Hope. Week 4: We will review how we as a group as progressing with our writing. We will do a final review of everyone’s experience of the work shop. We will devise a group plan on how to continue the creative writing process as a supporting tool in life. We will explore ideas on creative writing. This will include poetry, fiction, diaries etc. Week 5: We will reflect on any skills we may have gained.
